blogger classmate

Hello everyone!
Today I want to talk about a great idea that one of your classmates has had. Here is the e-mail she sent me:

Hola Silvia, soy Eliana DiJorgi Menche.

ELI =)

Congratulations for this initiative, I hope everybody visits the blog and writes in it (but also in this one!) Do you like the idea?

I think it's a great idea! Sometimes we just don't know what to write, or where to start, eventhough it's impossible not to have an idea about something, we block ourselves and just don't write anything at all....I thing this is a good way to start writing, at least something! Good for her! I'm already following her blog.

I think it's a very good idea too. Congratulations. As for me, call me old fashioned, but I prefer to write on paper. I keep my own language journal since Language I, and I find it very useful. At the beginning I took notes of idioms, discourse markers, useful phrases for informal letters,different ways of describing, people, places, etc. For Language II, my notes were about formal links and such. For this course, I devided it in two sections: the Word(s)-of-the-Day Section, where I write words that I find in some texts and have to look up in the dictionary or any other word that I see that calls my attention (all of them with their definitions, of course) and the Writing Section where I try to follow the journal prompts from Models For Writers, or sometimes just write about what I feel like to write. I tell you about all this to propose another idea for those who, like me, spend more time out of the house than in front of the computer, and may want to have the opportunity to write at any time an idea comes to their minds. I hope you find it useful.
I'm following Eliana's blog as well and I see hers is a good way of expressing ourselves freely. Thank you.

This is a great idea! I have a blog myself but I dont dedicate too much time on it. As Marie said Im used to write on paper so I keep a journal writing about the problems I encounter. For example, the other day I failed an exam and I founf it useful to write about that experience. It's not that I have never failed before but I felt so downcast about it that I had to let it out of my system. And by the time I finished writing my piece I felt a lot better. So, I guess writing helps you more than you think!

I think it is great that there are people willing to make an effort and try to approach the subject in such a practical way! Because it will not only help you pass the subject, but it will also, in time, help you improve the way you express yourself (even the way you reason), and that is what matters the most.
Language III lasts only one year. You can choose to do just what it takes to pass it or, much more useful, you can incorporate what you learn from it and apply it to other areas of life.
My personal experience with the subject was one that opened my eyes. Before I took the course, I used to see most subjects as something I "had to" do, some kind of obstacle in the way towards getting my degree. Fortunatelly, there was something about those classes that made me see I was there becouse I had chosen to. So, if I liked English, why hadn´t I been enjoying it? And then I realised: I had been treating my English classes as something separate from my everyday life. So I chose (as Eliana) to create a blog where I could write and experiment with both English and Spanish (and I even post some translations).
Anyway, I believe this idea is very good! and I congratulate every one who tries it out! (and I'm already following Eliana's blog)

you can check out my blog at http://rosebudheaven.blogspot.com/
and if anybody is intrested in translating rock songs, feel free to contact me, I'm planning on creating a blog just for that purpose, where we can discuss and exchange different translations of our favourite songs!
